On May 15th and 16th 2018, ARC Advisory Group will host its European Industry Forum (EIF) in the Meliã Hotel Sitges in Spain.  The European Industry Forum is part of ARC’s successful series of worldwide conferences in the USA, India, China, and Japan.

Charalampos Theocharidis, Branch Manager of infoteam Software will talk about “Robot-based Filling Concept (Multiagent Control) for Individualized Beverage Supply”.

Future filling concepts must be flexible - the interdisciplinary research project "RoboFill 4.0" realizes the first prototype line.  The social trend towards individualized products is growing continuously and has long since reached the beverage industry market.  What can still be done by hand on a small scale is unthinkable in mass production.  The reason for this lies in the rigid production processes.  They prevent small batch sizes from being flexibly integrated into ongoing production.  Therefore new filling concepts are needed that can react at any time to new orders, equipment failures and other influences.

The interdisciplinary research project "RoboFill 4.0" aims to do just that and has won over a handful of established industrial companies and research institutes who are now working together on the flexible future.  Digitalization (I 4.0) enables the use of a multi agent system to provide a decentralized MES for a flexible bottle filling line.

The presentation will cover the benefits for the end users, as shown by the case study of the brewery Weihenstephan and the machinery OEM Krones.
