Siemens introduced the SCALANCE XFM-200, a compact family of managed Industrial Ethernet switches designed as the direct successor to the SCALANCE XF-200 series. Specifically optimized for installations in space-restricted control cabinets, the switches feature a flat form factor with installation depths as low as 45 mm and a downward-facing cable orientation intended to simplify deployment in compact enclosures and machine-level installations.
The switches run on SINEC OS, Siemens’ modern industrial switch operating system, and offer a range of management options, including web-based management, CLI, SNMP, NETCONF, and integration with SINEC NMS for centralized diagnostics and firmware management.
The XFM-200 family supports line, star, and ring network topologies and includes industrial networking features such as Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP), PROFINET S2 system redundancy, and Configuration in Run (CiR). The switches also support redundant power inputs to improve network availability.
The SCALANCE XFM-200 portfolio includes six models. Three Fast Ethernet versions provide direct replacements for existing XF-200 products, while three new Gigabit Ethernet variants address applications with higher bandwidth requirements. Available configurations include four-port and eight-port RJ45 models, as well as versions combining six RJ45 ports with two SFP uplink ports.
The SCALANCE XFM-200 family is available now, with additional regulatory approvals expected to follow through phased rollouts.
