Tesla’s Cybercab Is Really a Logistics Network

Tesla’s Cybercab is usually framed as an autonomous-vehicle story, but the larger challenge may be operational. Building a self-driving vehicle is one part of the equation. Building a network that can finance, charge, maintain, clean, stage, reposition, and continuously utilize large fleets of those vehicles is another. At scale, Cybercab begins to look less like a vehicle program and more like a logistics system.

That shift puts utilization, fleet positioning, charging, maintenance, mobility hubs, and network orchestration at the center of the business model. If Tesla controls the software, dispatching, demand, and operating rules while independent partners provide vehicles and infrastructure, Cybercab could evolve into a distributed transportation network in which software coordinates physical assets across cities.
