ARC has been a big
believer in, and
proponent of, IIoT-enabled solutions providing
real value for users and owner operators that employ rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.) in their
applications in industries such as
upstream,
midstream and downstream oil & gas; chemical processing; water and waste water; and many others. There is a real ground swell of growing awareness of, increasing interest in, and greater actual deployments of IIoT-enabled solutions that are proving themselves in the oil patch by enabling operators and E&P players to lower their cost per boe, increase production and EUR and/or improve collaboration among the various ecosystems-both within internal operating groups and among external stakeholders (i.e. partner operators, drilling contractors, pipeline operators, EPCs, MACs, etc.). Oh yeah, by the way these IIoT solutions are in most instances also helping ensure greater HSE (health, safety and environment) for employees in the oilfield and on the platform. Bottom line profits are always important, but hardly anyone would argue that it should ever come at the expense of safety.
My colleague David Littman and I are looking to schedule meetings with companies attending the
Turbomachinery Pump & Symposia down in Houston (September 12
th through 15
th) to discuss the different challenges they are facing, talk a little more about what IIoT actually means (and how it may be more than what you think you may have been doing for 10+ years) and, more importantly, what it could mean in helping those companies employ predictive maintenance for greater asset uptime, improve productivity and realize operational excellence. We will also be wanting to talk with companies involved in compressor and/or turbine monitoring and control solutions (i.e. optimization, etc.) for ongoing research in that area. So if you are planning to attend the Symposia and are interested in scheduling a time to meet please feel free to contact me at
[email protected] or
[email protected]. We would love the chance to meet, listen and learn; if we can impart some helpful information along the way than that is all that much for the better.
