Emerson, in partnership with Metrol, has launched the Intelligent Multistage Completion Network – an integrated upper and lower completions downhole solution that communicates wirelessly with instruments at the reservoir sandface, the physical interface between the formation and the wellbore.

Microsoft has acquired Express Logic, a leader in real time operating systems (RTOS) for IoT and edge devices powered by microcontroller units (MCUs).  Express Logic’s ThreadX RTOS claims over 6.2 billion deployments.

Chevron Corporation announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Anadarko in a stock and cash transaction valued at $33 billion, or $65 per share.
