Tulip’s Validation Accelerator brings quality and validation teams into GxP application deployments early to align risk-based validation with modular manufacturing workflows.

Tulip has launched its Validation Accelerator service for life sciences manufacturers operating in GxP-regulated environments. The service brings Tulip validation specialists together with customer quality and validation teams to align existing procedures with the company’s app-based, risk-based validation approach.

The announcement addresses a common obstacle in life sciences digitalization: validation practices are often based on the implementation of large, monolithic systems, while manufacturers are increasingly introducing smaller, targeted applications for production, quality, maintenance, and other frontline workflows. When validation is treated as a final project stage, changes made during development can create delays before a new system reaches the production floor.

Moving Beyond the Monolithic Validation Model

Tulip applications share a common data model but can be added or changed individually. This creates a different validation challenge from that of a conventional enterprise system. A change to one application does not necessarily require a manufacturer to revisit and revalidate the entire environment.

Tulip’s approach is intended to support validation alongside application development. Rather than building a complete solution and testing it at the end, quality and validation teams can evaluate the risk, requirements, and test needs associated with individual applications as they are designed and configured.

This distinction matters for life sciences manufacturers seeking to scale digital transformation initiatives across multiple workflows and sites. A validation model that cannot accommodate incremental change can become a constraint on the speed at which teams improve shop-floor processes.

Bringing Quality Teams Into Application Design

The Validation Accelerator begins with a review of a customer’s validation plans, standard operating procedures, and templates. Tulip specialists then work with quality, validation, and app-development personnel to map existing procedures to the company’s approach, assign responsibilities for validation activities, and assess the business risk associated with a sample application.

The engagement is designed to provide a tailored validation plan, draft risk-assessment and test-case materials, and recommendations for the next phase of deployment. Customers retain ownership of their validation documentation, decisions, and approvals throughout the process.

The service recognizes that validation is not simply a documentation exercise. In regulated manufacturing, it must be considered as part of system and workflow design. Involving quality teams early can help manufacturers ensure that digital applications are built with the controls, traceability, and testing requirements needed for their intended use.

Tulip’s Validation Accelerator addresses a broader challenge in regulated manufacturing: digital applications must support faster improvement without weakening validation discipline, traceability, or quality governance. This requirement is becoming more important as life sciences manufacturers adopt modular applications, AI-enabled workflows, and connected quality systems across their operations.
